What is the difference between a D.B.A. and a Ph.D. in Business Administration?

A significant difference between a regular Ph.D. and a D.B.A. degree in Business Administration is mainly the research focus. Standard business management Ph. D's prepares candidates/ applicants for academic roles at a business school or research position. Whereas the A Doctor of business administration programme provides students with practical knowledge to be applied in a business environment. A D.B.A. course includes research too, but the central focus is not on growing the existing literature. Using new information from D.B.A. classes, students engage in thorough research while looking for solutions. This process often becomes the basis for the dissertation, in which you have to present a theoretical model of a problem and possible solutions.
