3 Reason Why a Student Should Join EDAMBA
Feb 2, 2021

EDAMBA or European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration is an international non-profit association. It aims at promoting and facilitating co-operation among Doctoral Programmes in Management and Business Administration.

Students in the doctoral programmes focus on research creating management theory and knowledge that applies to business practice. Perhaps the most inimitable component of the Management programme is its emphasis on genuine organizational phenomena from a multidisciplinary viewpoint.

More specifically, EDAMBA has the purpose of:

  • Providing a network to exchange information,
  • Promoting research co-operation in general,
  • Helping the participating schools increase their PhD programmes' quality and create an environment of excellence with a European perspective while pursuing diversity.

Following are three significant reasons why students should join EDAMBA:

Reason 1- Participation in Annual Meetings

Students that become a part of EDAMBA get to participate in various seminars and workshops. This may come as a surprise, but there is participation in annual meetings, too, as it is an unusual opportunity for students to meet the programme directors. Students get a chance to express their voices. There is even participation and voting power at the EDAMBA Annual Meeting.

The General Assembly Representation on the EDAMBA Executive Committee is by the elected members voted each year before the General Assembly. It has access to information through our informal network, publications/events, and doctoral students' participation in the annual EDAMBA summer academy.

Reason 2- Global Collaborations across networks

AACSB and EDAMBA collaboration, the European Doctoral Association in Management and Business Administration, has collaborated with AACSB to take a more in-depth look into the variability, innovations and strategic shifts occurring within global business doctoral programmes. The study shoots from EDAMBA and AACSB interest in exploring quality doctoral education and better understanding doctoral education's significance to local, regional and global impact on higher education, the economy, and society.

With the significant interruption worldwide of the Coronavirus Pandemic, we lead a progression of meetings with doctoral programme directors to comprehend doctoral business instruction patterns, just as ongoing special effects on conveyance, situating, and strategic planning.

EQUAL collaboration- The EQUAL rules for doctoral programmes have been created in conformance with the 'Salzburg Principles' and expand on the European Code of Practice for Doctoral Studies in Management and Business' together formed by the EDAMBA and the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM). Moreover, they are lined up with worldwide accreditation measures.

Reason 3- Summer Research Academy

Every year there is Summer Research Academy, the purpose is to develop an independent intellectual identity in the doctoral student through discussions and presentations at the academy. The summer research academy configuration comprises talks/lectures, workshops, and member introductions. Talks are focused on significant issues and current topics that are treated in the workshops. Workshops are more intuitive, and members ought to hope to contribute.

The overall point of the EDAMBA Summer Research Academy is to:

  • Give a discussion to discourse on examination standards and techniques in the board and business research field.
  • Permit members to give their examination an emphasis on its position in the exploration scene in business and the executives.
  • Provide the young researchers intend to inspire and proceed with their analysis/study and discover a job and scholarly character in the present research outlook.
